Circuit Celebration Day
Saturday 20th July 2024
Wesley Methodist Church, West Bromwich
from 11am and ending with Worship at 3pm
What’s it all about then?
On Saturday 20th July 2024, from 11am onwards, we are gathering at Wesley Methodist Church to celebrate our Circuit and our churches.

The Circuit, and especially our churches that form it, does some really brilliant work. This our opportunity to share that with one another, to celebrate it and to show people all that we do to serve both God and our community.
Feel free to attend any time you’ like between 11am and 3pm. At 3pm we will all come together in Worship. Please bring along your families and friends too, young or old, there is something for everyone! Refreshments will be available throughout the day.
We’re conscious that people may struggle to get to Wesley or to park all day, so a free minibus will be provided to get you there. Please see below for more information about parking and the minibus.
What's happening on the day?

The day will feature displays from each church in the Circuit, highlighting what they do and how we can all share their successes.
Workshops will run throughout the day, giving you plenty of chance to try something new or to learn about a different aspect of Circuit life. There will be competitions and fun activities over the course of the day. Children’s activities will also be provided throughout the day.
There will be time and space for prayer, and plenty of time to sit and chat with friends from your church and across the Circuit. Refreshments will be available all day and a free buffet lunch will be provided between 1pm and 2pm.
The day will come together at 3pm when we will join together as a Circuit family to celebrate in Worship. This will feature many of the items created and explored in the workshops during the day.
Those workshops will be amazing! They will repeat over the course of the day from 11am-11.45, 12pm-12.45pm and 2pm-2.45pm, so you’ll have plenty of opportunity to try different ones. Please see below about details of each workshop.
Singing the Faith Workshop

The "new" Singing the Faith hymn book may have been used in many of the churches across the Circuit for a number of years since its launch in Autumn 2011, but there are still so many of the hymns and items included that we don't know or are not too familiar with.

Methodism was Born in Song, so come along to learn some new hymns and share in the fun. No musical talents are needed, just enthusiasm and a smile!
Drama Workshop

We’re not doing Shakespeare! Not in 45 minutes!

We’ll be considering how readings from the Bible could be further enhanced for our worship services with a bit of preparation, acting, drama and expressive language.
Craft Workshop

We’re not recreating the Bayeux Tapestry!

Come along and sample a range of activities, some of which may be new to you! We will be doing Gelli plate printing, fabric wall hangings, patchwork bookmarks, etc. You’ll have opportunities to make a keepsake or watch some demonstrations of crafts from around the Circuit. You might need an apron to get fully involved!

All abilities or none, accompanied children welcome!

Re-use! Recycle!
Prayer Workshop

Come and explore some different, and perhaps new, ways of praying - or simply come and spend some quiet time.

Join us to add to our prayer chain, even if you don't stay for the whole of the workshop. This will be used in our Worship at the end of the day.
Children's Activities

Families and children are most welcome to take part in our children’s activities. We will have a dedicated children's area where there will be a range of craft activities throughout the day, along with an area specifically for babies and toddlers.
If you don't want to commit to coming for the whole day, just pop in for as long as you’d like with your youngsters and enjoy being creative.

Adults must be present to supervise their children throughout the activity session they attend.
Travel and Parking

Location
Our Celebration Day is being held at Wesley Methodist Church, 291 High Street, West Bromwich, B70 8ND. For information about the church, please take a look at their page.
Public Transport
Wesley is right in the town centre of West Bromwich and is well served by public transport links. The West Bromwich Central Metro Station is just 6 minutes walk away and West Bromwich Bus Station just 5 minutes walk away.
Driving
We appreciate that Wesley’s town centre location can make driving there tricky. However, the one-way system is well signposted and there is plenty of public parking nearby. We recommend parking on the Edward Street car park and parking on the Tesco car park is reasonably priced – if you buy something from there, a discount on parking is given. However, we do not recommend you park on the Astle Retail Park car park as this is very expensive.

The car park at Wesley itself has a limited number of spaces and is being reserved for visitors with mobility issues. Please get in contact with us if you’d like one of these spaces.

Free Minibus Park and Ride
We are providing a free minibus park and ride service, courtesy of Ryders Green Church Day Care Centre. Please get in contact with us if you would like to know more.
Setting up your display

Churches are welcome to set up their displays on Saturday morning from 8.30am. While you are setting up you are welcome to park on Wesley's car park, so that you don't have far to carry items. Once set up, please move your car to one of the nearby car parks, as outlined above. Please complete your setting up by 10.30am.
